Love song title challenges. I often use song titles anyway in many images.

You look like a true metaller, even if I don't know if are so... I surely don't look like a true metaller, but in a certain way, I really am :)

when I listened to metal it was different. That is when Mettalica was considered metal. now it's considered soft rock.

Therefore you can use only songs from the first album to the Black one :)

GOD YES. Finally a challenge with some THUNDER. I think that we as A CIRCLE should RIDE THE LIGHTNING and accept THE CHALLENGE and NEVER BACK DOWN from the IRON MAN principles that allow THIS PLACE to flourish under THE MASTER OF THE WIND.

I was planning a shot where PERUVIAN SKIES reflect in THE MIRROR, but I had no time today so I'll try ANOTHER DAY... I'm tired, I woke up at 6.00! Well... this post is like a STRANGE DEJA VU ^_^

That list is a bit suspect. It looks like all the songs by about about 4 or 5 bands. Back in the day (late 70's), at least in my corner of the world, these bands were considered Heavy Metal: AC/DC, Aerosmith, Sammy Hagar, Van Halen, Ted Nugent, Nazareth - along with those on that list you linked to.

For the record, I'm a +1 on the idea for a challenge.

I agree with you, I was in a hurry and posted the first list I had seen even if I had noticed it was oriented towards not so many bands.

Here another list (more 'modern'):

I think you are right. It really changes a lot dependently on where you live. I have never considered most of the bands you mention heavy metal, rather Hard Rock.
Metallica and the like I would call Thrash, while Iron Maiden, Hallowen and so on Heavy Metal.
A bit in doubt as for bands like Megadeth. But that's really how we call things in my corner of the square.
Actually it's great that it's such a big box to fish ideas from.

Great challenge, I am THUNDER STRUCK, hope it comes before the end of the year, so I can give a new direction to my life. I was FEELING the LONELINESS OF THE LONG DISTANCE RUNNER, TRAPPED UNDER ICE, looking for a muse or at least a MISTRESS FOR XMAS, but now we can all SHOOT TO THRILL rather than wasting time on 'too many women, too many pills'. So, let's all FIRE YOUR GUNS! (wonder if my wife is reading this over my shoulder, probably I would deserve it :)

Heavy Metal is like a big bowl with so many sub-genres, prog metal, thrash, death metal, black metal, new metal, classic metal and so on and we should add all the stuff connected to hard rock, so my opinion is that all the stuff 'stronger' than rock is ok. :)

ETA: I love Megadeth, I've seen them in Rome in 1996, it was my first big concert far from home - I was 18 :)

Anyone see Celine Dion singing "Shook me all night long"? I first saw it on VH1 or MTV "Rocks most embarrassing moments of all time" or something like that.

Warning: don't watch on a full stomach.

What the HELL was that? I can't even HEAR music at any meaningful level, and I can tell that was an absolute junk performance...

What about Spinal tap? :D
I like Megadeth, even if Iron Maiden have a special place in my playlist :)

No doubt about it that metal is not like it used to be.

I have been on an "oldies" kick myself... (being a youngster 70's music is oldies to me)

That being said, I would most likely pick a title from a newer aged metal band and most likely my favorite band at the moment, August Burns Red..

The link above is their newest music video and I love it! :D
