Hi all! I don't know if this is the right forum for this but here it goes - Besides being an amateur photographer, I own a bicycle shop in Southern California. We're in the middle of some renovations and redecorating, and are looking to have some large format photos printed to spiff up the shop. As a mom & pop operation, I don't have the budget to hire photographers and pay royalties. And as a small-business owner, I just don't have the time to organize shoots myself :( But if there are any other photographers/cyclist willing to donate their beautiful action shots of cycling, I can offer to credit the photographer on the printed photos displayed in the store. Anyone willing to have their photo(s) printed for public display?

If so there, are only a couple criteria...
1) Looking for photos in the categories of mountain biking, road biking, and beach cruisers
2) Action shots preferred
3) Not too brand specific (i.e. Trek bike with rider wearing all Trek clothes, etc)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks for reading and happy shooting!

Wouldn't it be better to purchase photos on a stock site? Or at least pay stock prices for the owners of the photos here since they will be used commercially? Since the photos will all need releases anyway.

Hey Derick - where's the shop? I'm in the process of moving to LA and will need a bike shop! :-)

I've been away from my computer all day, and just saw everyone's responses after logging in. All I have to say is WOW... I almost forgot how talented the DPC community is! I appreciate everyones PM's, posts, and emails with there contributions and will be looking at them later tonight! Very exciting!

MattO - As said, I have no budget to pay a lot for photography, which is why I'm reaching out to the photography commmunity here for free contributions. I've contributed my own photos for commercial, educational, and personal use gratis and am grateful that the photography community as a whole is willing to return that favor. In addition to crediting the photographers, I'd be happy to send some free bike swag to them as a thank-you. Or offer a discount on bike parts & accessories for anyone local. But the $$ required for high-res photography from most of the stock sites is just above my means. More importantly, the selection on those sites is horrible. The shots that have been posted on this thread and those sent to me are 10x more creative and beautiful than many of the ones I've seen on the stock sites IMHO.

But at the end of the day (even as small local bike shop) the photos will be used in a commercial setting as MattO has said. So if anyone has any issue with donating their shots, please let me know. As a photographer myself, I can respect if others are looking to make money off their work as opposed to sharing it with the public at large.

The issue isn't the donating part, it's the Model releases which usually cost the photographer something to get it. I know when I get/ask for a model release I give/offer my model something in exchange for it. Model releases will be needed to display these photos if they have any recognizable person in them, since they are being used in a commercial setting as a form of advertisement/decor.
