Way Outby DistantColoursComment: Great station this isn't it! Very photogenic, but I can;t recall seeing one at this time of day. Nice focus on the sign, but I feel your composition is a little top-heavy, although I do like the focus on the glass area. In a way I'd like it if this was even more abstract and the foreground less distinct. Nice job. |

Endless Dunesby essieComment: Guh! Sand dunes - what a boring subject. This'll get nowhere.
; )
Great light and nice sense of desolation/loneliness. The only gripe is that the image is a little overexposed in the sky and lacks a little sharpness in the foreground detail. |

The Bouquet by artvetComment: Beautiful exposure. While the subject doesn't grab me by the b***s I can fully appreciate the rich depth to it and I bet it looks wonderful large. |

Mer Reduxby mpetersComment: Your editing is a bit ropey near the tree horizon but your shot is a good one. You've got some well emphasised light, good foreground detail and texture. |

What Boys are Made ofby isofocusedComment: Great shot. Very unusual and quite brave for this audience. It's the non-technical love-or-hate-it kind of photo that would make a good focus on a wall or in a book. Good luck! |

W E L Dby XMountaineerComment: Nice action - could do with being straightened.
I like the little tendrils of light after the sparks. It would perhaps be more involving if we were closer to the thing being welded so that we could identify it, as much of the lower portion of your frame is irrelevant. A rectangular crop mid way through the shot would make it stronger in my view. |

Hot skyby anferhComment: Great cloud, if a little too distant in terms of challenge theme. |

Solar Riderby APComment: Striking shot (probably the winning one) with a great sky. The silhouette is a little indistinct in places but I like the horse stance.
It's just a big shame that it's so sharpened that it's created a distracting halo, although it's possibly intentional. You need to be careful with your border too (see bottom edges).
Personally, I'd prefer it much less extreme as it would add so much more gravitas to the photo. |
