Whenever, the challenge ends I always look to see how the shots I liked the most finished (I was your one 9) and I have to say I was shocked to see this come so low

Yes its 'just' a flipped shot but (for me at least) I really liked the disconcerted feeling it gave me when it came on screen and it met the challenge well.

Interesting composition and well executed. I really hope you dont let this score discourage you...DPC Voters can be a strange lot and just because an image scores low it does not mean it is a bad picture.

I still really like both it and your take on the challenge

Hey buddy, I wanted to.be the first to congratulate you on the ribbon but because of my tardiness I guess I need to get the back of the Q (groan)

Beautifully observed and captured. Great B&W conversion and a wonderful textured feel. Tack sharp!

All this and the sox beating the twins in the play-off! All in all not a bad week

At a time when I feel mightily disgruntled with DPC (note to self is it possible to feel gruntled about anything) it is images like this and talent like yours that keeps me coming back for one more look

The colour and sharpness of this shot is beyond praise. I know you felt that you were struggling with your new lens (even when you were producing great shots) but this is simply awesome.

One of very few pictures I would actually pay good money to purchase

Sandy my admiration for you as a photographer and a person knows no bounds

Yeah yeah STILL struggling to get to grips with that new lens. Another of your amazing images I love the moment in time and the sharpness of the image. The textures are amazing and I feel I could just reach out and touch the fuzziness of the bee's body (not that I would of course...Me not stoopid)

You truly are an amazing artist

Peter...I see this far outstripped your expectations and justly so. I can fully understand why you would have a stay-cation if the scenery around you is as beautiful as this. Given that we see a lot of sunsets over lakes on DPC it takes something very special to make you stop in your tracks....Let me tell you, this IS very special

Glorious composition, colours and reflection. Adding this to my favourites and congratulations on the great score

I really loved the dof here and the way you took something that was way past its 'sell by' date and made it look beautiful again. Great sharpness and the tip of the rose looks to be coming out of the screen. Certainly deserved more recognition than it got

Holy cow....How did I miss this shot before? Amazing IR image but way way more than just a 'clever effect' Full of rich tones and at once both pictureque and haunting

Simply incredible and adding to favourites

GREAT job Michelle

Karen I thought this was a sublime image, the strength of the green bokeh works really well. perhaps it could have done - as you say - with a little deeper DOF to get all of the wings as sharp as the bit by the thorax (I actually think with this it could have been the insect picture of the year)

Great great capture

Holy kamoly, no body does it better Roz! Another awesome insect macro. The clarity and sharpness are incredible and the richness of the colours just divine. This got a 9 from me in voting so it goes without saying I think this is seriously underrated

Top job buddy

Very nice in your face image and I LOVED the processing that you did on it. You have created a wonderful 3d effect. Uber cool
