Thanks for that, Barbara.... I was so torn between coming up with a clever title, or something that might prove useful to explain the situation. |

Cactaceaeby BeetleComment by primabarbara: I couldn't imagne how lovely cacti can look in b&w until I saw you picture. But when thinking of landscape I'm thinking of a bigger scene with sky also, so probably I wound have given you a 6 for this picture (somehow I missed voting) |

HMQS Gayundahby BeetleComment by primabarbara: For me this is indeed a silhouette, perfectly set back from the light sky. I also like the lights on the distant shore which look like pearls on a string.
The most appalling feature of this picture for me is the bright rim at the upper border of the wreck, which seems to result from the pp. |

Considering the circumstances you did a great job!
If it wasn't for your title, I would have wondered what on earth they were doing - a picture where you can spent some time exploring all the details, the child in the backbround, the vegetation, the clothing, the fruit skin on the ground, the young man's hairdo, even the chief's bare feet are interesting. Thank you for showing all this to us!

How did you do this, Karin? |
Thanks, Barbara.
How? Camera on tripod, lots of photos, then combined into an animated GIF.
Here are a couple of old DPC threads on the subject:
One and two.
There are also truckloads of tutorials around.
Have fun making one! |

Fog blanket at 6:04amby BeetleComment by primabarbara: wow, what a vista!
Too bad you had to take the shot with mobile instead of camera, the image quality would have been better I think.
Also I'd consider to crop at the bottom right above the lamp post on the right to clean up the foreground.
Can you go there another time? |
