Seems a bit of a stretch for "Obscured" but I it is a strong image, so it gets a pass from me.

Thank you for the votes and comments. Much appreciated.

I got a Fuji X-T1 recently, so I don't have to lug around the D800 when I go on hikes or whatever. It's been great so far! The X-T1 is a good camera. It does not replace the Nikon D800, but it is an excellent second camera and it definitely will replace my older Nikon D7000.

I shot this in the evening at almost 8PM on a very windy and cold day in the Palouse area of Washington State in the USA. This is from Steptoe Butte, the highest point in the Palouse, looking sorta south, maybe a bit west? From Steptoe Butte you can see farmland in all directions, with distant mountains, and often great skies. Even though it was so cold that I was still shivering even with 2 shirts, my heavy polartec sweater, my down vest and my windbreaker on, it was a beautiful evening, full of storms in the distance and really warm filtered light all around. This was shot handheld, using a polarizer lens on the 55-200 lens. I was sorta using the outdoor cement washrooms as a shelter from the wind, and it didn't smell too good. I am using the Velvia settings of the X-T1, and love it! I used to love FujiFilm way back. Anyway.

The original is rather dark and not prime quality. I shot it RAW+JPG. In Lightroom I reset camera calibration to Velvia, then applied a couple presets I have to lighten/brighten the image. Sent to PS and finished by processing the top/bottom parts separately since the bottom was way darker than the top. I increased the colours and especially the reds, that is, if I remember, I shifted the yellows towards red or something like that. Anyway. As usual, I am rather experimental and random when it comes to both shooting and processing, which suits me just fine, but makes it difficult to explain how things were done. Oh well.

Thanks again!
