Peace Bridge / Rough Watersby PixlmakerComment by hahn23: The dynamic range between the shadow detail under the bridge and the sky highlights is large. Postprocessing a single image to show detail throughout will result in the halos...which appear at the edges of dark and light zones.. It's a good candidate for HDR Efex Pro 2. I think you may have improved the three dimensional appearance by including items of interest in the foreground. An aperture of f/18 is mightly tiny pinhole and could be on the edge of bending lightwaves as they enter the lens and reducing clarity and detail sharpness. I wouldn't go much tinier than f/16. Furthermore, f/11 or even f/8 may have given you adequate DOF to encompass your scene. |

Peace Bridge / Rough Watersby PixlmakerComment by Mike: i like the processing however be careful when pushing the clarity to not create halo or makes things glow. i'd also like to see a longer exposure as the water is blurred but not blurred enough. not that you dont have to follow stupid DPC editing rules, blur that water with a motion blur and smooth as you can. really make that bridge pop out. |

Water Frontby PixlmakerComment by ambaker: Your bridge image is much stronger than this one. Again processing seems a bit much, the halo above the tree line on the far shore is an indication. The right side of the horizon looks a bit lower than the left. Could be lens distortion, or optical illusion.
I like the leading line of the shore, but they do not seem to lead the eye to a final subject/resting point. The block with fear tries to be a subject but the koine lines pull the eye away. Yet the. I dance of the word shore and box yank the eye back, in a never ending battle. I probably would have votes 5 or 6.
Edited to fix really bad spelling. Auto-correct can be a ruthless taskmaster.Message edited by author 2014-08-02 17:13:31. |
