Absolutely amazing shot, unrivalled. So meaningful to me, on so many levels.
It has technical excellence, a sense of drama, and is oh so topical, with the World Cup about to begin.

Such lovely detail, colours and contrast. I would have cropped out the right side, and made it a "portrait" format, to allow for more detail in the allowed size.

I've done these, and they're difficult. But yours is really good....sharp focus, and good depth of field. Nice colours, and colour contrast. And the tangential light adds to the textural appeal of his wings. I get the impression that some of the 'blur' was added in post processing, rather than just due to depth of field. But its really good.
