The Lemon Comment
It looks as though someone threw a box of large drinking straws at that ship or whatever that thing is in the distance. I'm not sure what it is, it kind of hurts my eyes to look at it too long. The weird yellow rocks in the foreground set the green ooze in the water off nicely though.
End

That was fun. Sorry!

I hate the radioactive paw prints and the fisherman looks like he's wearing a Tron suit.

(That's the best I could do, sorry :(. I really LOVE the distorted star trails!)

[Now what I consider a constructive comment, pointing defects on the image]:

At first it seems the "chaos" subject matter is the rocks, as they appear in foreground and well focused, which could be interesting but the lighting is very poor and it becomes dull. What seems to be some people and flare are really a distraction, and the strong city lights in the bg don't help much either. Though obfuscated by the city lights the effects in the sky are nice tough to the image.

[the lemon] (which I think it'd be out of order):

I can't see anything good here, or that connects with the challenge. You'd do a favor to yourself and all the rest of us voting on this challenge if you had not entered this piece of junk, making us wasting our precious time to look at it.

(that was fun... I'm still laughing... thanks for the treat, Keiran)

Okay, here goes:
[lemon]
Somebody's got rocks in the head and let some of them spill out and onto the camera's sensor along with a bit of the accompanying primordial ooze. And then, sadly somebody tilted the resulting pixels into the Challenge. Shoe-in? No, shoo-out!
[/lemon]

(Hmmm, that was fun. too much fun.)

I think this picture, along with your portfolio, illustrates that you should be a writer.

your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries. no move along you silly engligh kah-ni-git.

*sorry, i tried to be really harsh, i just can't do it. i like the sky and ocean in this, my only criticism is the stupid rocks in the foreground.
I mean really, could they not have the decency to get the hell out of your picture? photo-bombing or WHAT?!?
seriously, some rocks just have people in their heads...

I dislike the foreground. It's quite unpleasant and noisy... and leads me to think maybe the white balance was off.

I also do not see much to lead the eye around the picture, so the eye gets stuck in the strange green swirls, which I can't figure out what they are - which bugs me.

Sorry, that's about as rough as I get.

<begin sour lemon rant>

Something is not quite right with this photograph. Actually there is not anything right with this photo. In fact referring to this a photo is a insult to the pixels you abused when creating this monstrosity. The fact that you think anyone on earth besides your mother would think this is worth a second of their viewing time is unfathomable to me.

I would LOVE to give you some direction on how to improve this but some things in life, like your photographic talents, are just not fixable. Perhaps it is time for a new hobby.

<in Character>

This image sucks. There's no beauty in it. There's no theme. There's no thought to composition and it is impossible to understand what you are trying to show here.

It's grainy and poorly executed, with jagged lines on the star trails.

It's just boring.

Plus, I think you smell like armpits.
