The difference is subtle, but I do like it better. I think you could even crop more off the bottom if you wanted - maybe a square crop so that the tree isn't so close to the center of the shot.

This is definitely an image that needs the greyscale below it :o) The blues and oranges work well together, and the mix of ripples and reflections helps add interest to the image. However, I personally would have cropped off the lower quarter (maybe lower third), since I feel that that area doesn't add anything.

I think the darkness of this image, adds to (or rather creats) the mood. Very well seen, and executed. The one detail I would have changed, is the cut-off of the part of the lighter region of water (on the left, in the middle); to me it breaks the very pleasantly flowing shape. A great job, nevertheless.

Interesting. Dark, but I assume you did that on purpose. The angle and framing/cropping you have chosen is nice. I really like the curves in the waterline. The darkness does make it a bit difficult to get a lot of detail, however, still a nice shot. Good luck in the challenge.

Unique. Looks like metalic thread. Beautiful. Shouldn't have cropped the bottom so closely. That's the only design that would have been complete. Or maybe cropped off the left side and gotten two complete ones. still a good 5. PLT
