Hi colorcarnival,
This was taken during my trek to Everest Base Camp, Nepal. we encounter many porters carrying loads up and down the mountain and valley. They are both friendly and warm, shot while they were resting while they were chatting amoung themselve. Many uses Yak or even donkey as well but this is their basic work to bring some money home. Glad you like it.

Best regards

Little soft focus on the nose. I do a lot of macro so I know how hard this is to get the eyes and nose is focus. Still a great shot! 8

Greetings from the Critique Club! First off, Roger, congrats on the HM, this is a very good macro. The beetle's antennae make a great way to lead the eye into the pic and to that funny little face it has. The ambient lighting is perfect and the comp dead simple but very effective. Even the colours work perfectly with the green of the leaf being complementary to the orange eye area. Great find, and well deserving of the high score *and HM in a FS no less. Keep up the great work, and look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

Susan

Hi Susan,
Great to hear from you again. Thank you and I am really happy managing to rech 4th(HM). My best so far and Really very happy. I am particular of it's antennae as they are very long, I position myself lower then the normal eye level shot. This allow me to express it very long antennae and very detailed face which basically where I want them to see the compound eyes. I feel the leaf is beeded to show the base of where it is resting on, I am pretty fortunate too as this is a rather big beetle thus I was able to capture the details of it's compound eyes clearly. Thank you once again for your comments and valuable pointers. They have prove very useful, thank you Susan.

Best regards,

Many congrats on your HM, Roger.

Hi IreneM, Please do not be alarm, this is just a beetle and it is just almost 2 inches in length, they have very beautiful compound eyes and they are tree dweller. We commonly find them resting on leafs and at time on small branches. Thank you very much for your kind feedback.

Best regards,

Roger New
