I was completely swamped during the voting for this challenge, and didn't have time to make a single comment. In fact, I'm letting my membership lapse for now, as I don't have the time to contribute to the site the way I should.

I like this one a lot. (I'm working to be a professional photographer, of children amongst other things, so this appeals to me.) Candid shots are the best, and this certainly qualifies. The only suggestion I might make is to leave a bit more negative space in there. That is, zoom out a bit on this one. The background is pretty interesting, and while it might overpower the girl, I think it might be worth investigating.

Love the oversaturated, overexposed look, too.

With that said, I like this photo a lot. The movement through the scene is really gripping, and the colors are great. It woulda been neat to get this a bit earlier (or later?) in the day, to get the sun just a bit lower.

A joyous photo, at a place I'm really fond of. Love the Outer Banks.

I'm generally not a big fan of the selective desaturation photos. Not only are they done too much, but, more importantly, they are often misemployed. In this case, leaving the paci in color draws the eye away from the beautiful child and the beamer mother, and straight to the splash of pink. This would be a far better photo in straight B&W.

Really a pretty portrait. As a fellow "child photo" entrant in this challenge, I hope we're not suffering too much from anti-kid backlash!

The first photo I vote on, and it's stunning. I'm a sucker for the effective use of a wide angle (or, in this case, fisheye) lens. Brilliant.

Unfortunately, due to the angle you took the photo at, the needle is almost invisible.

Beautiful. Painted with light? This is how flower shots should be done! (And I've done a few boring ones myself!)

Beautiful. Not sure if the noise is due to the long exposure, or a high ISO. Wouldvn't been nice to not have that, obviously.
