hey there from the CC Club :)
this is a great flora shot ... i do like the composition and angle this is taken at ... the soft focus on the flower itself gives a warm feeling to the whole image ... good idea in filtering the sun .. (i never think of those things :) ... the DOF is nice here ... just enough to seperate the flower from the leaves and stem ... great job :) ... my only suggestion is maybe crop the top down a little ... but maybe you tried that and it didnt look nice ... just a suggestion :)

Lisa,
You scored well on this, but I'm surprised it didn't do even better. I love the back lighting and the subtle gradients of color. I can almost smell this delightful rose. You did a fine job!
Regards,

Grayce

I like the flower against the background. really stands out well. Focus and clarity are really great. I like the angle and framing/cropping as well. the lighting is alright, I wish that there could have been just a bit more lighting on the front of the flower for some added detail, but still a nice shot. ~Heather~

Wow this looks very crisp! The sunlight on the green leaves creates an amazing effect. I would have prefered to have seen the rose in sunlight as well.

the backlighting in the green leaves does a nice job of highlighting the detail, but that may be overpowering the rose bloom itself... - setzler

What a super idea to have the rose backlit by the blue sky. You've managed to keep the gentleness of the light and the rose throughout. What an accomplishment. This image really shows off your skills at capturing light without having it burn the photo. The leaves here take a little too much of the focus here, but I'll forgive that as I gaze at the light from this flower!

It would have been nice to see the light flow through the flower as well as the leaf.

great angle on a rose - it glows with the filtered sunlight, crowned by the leaves. Much more interesting than direct light. Might crop the bottom and loose the unimportant bud (rose hip?)

CC Hello Lisae

Fits The Challenge-Yes
Composition-Good
Background-Really nice.
My Opinion-Yes, a lot of processing for this shot. Your extra effort not only paid off here but it shows. Only two negative points to make: The very top is not straight, and the space at the bottom. I do love negative space in shots, but don't think it adds here. The colors are great. The idea unique and so special for the challenge. Good work.
